Back once again, Tulsa’s Gospel Best competition on April 26, 2014 hosted by J.A.M.E.S. Inc. and Women Empowering Nations will shine a spotlight on some of the best and brightest singing talent Tulsa has to offer.

Soloists and group acts will take the stage at the Tulsa Community College VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education to compete for cash prizes and the honor of being named Tulsa’s Gospel Best. A celebrity panel will judge the competing groups on stage presence, voice quality and song selection. Audience members will also select a People’s Choice winner from among competing individuals and groups.

In addition to presenting a night of thrilling and inspirational music, Tulsa’s Gospel Best supports two local nonprofit organizations: J.A.M.E.S., Inc. (www.jamesinc.org) was founded in 2006 to provide scholastic opportunities and mentoring support to pregnant and parenting teen mothers. Through the development of its Educational Doula model, the organization impacts the lives of teen girls through educational programming, resource identification and scholarships.

Women Empowering Nations (www.wenations.org) was founded in 2009 and is dedicated to the advancement of girls and women through self-esteem development, educational, and leadership outreach programs. WEN’s vision is to be a primary resource for inspiring, supporting and connecting female leaders so they grow in a capacity to lead and serve.
