Preparations Under Way for Second Annual Tulsa's Gospel Best

TULSA, Okla. – After the success of the first-ever Tulsa’s Gospel Best competition in spring 2012, J.A.M.E.S. Inc. and Women Empowering Nations will again shine a spotlight on some of the best and brightest singing talent Tulsa has to offer.

On April 20, four groups, four female soloists and four male soloists will take the stage at the Tulsa Community College VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education to compete for cash prizes and the honor of being named Tulsa’s Gospel Best. A celebrity panel will judge the competing groups on stage presence, voice quality and song selection. Audience members will also select a People’s Choice winner from among competing individuals and groups.

This year, Tulsa’s Gospel Best again welcomes emcee LeAnne Taylor, anchor of KOTV’s “Six in the Morning.” Celebrity judges Toni Estes, Grammy Award-winning R&B recording artist; singer-songwriter Tony Mason; and Tulsa singing star Rebecca Ungerman will also make repeat appearances at this year’s event.

In addition to presenting a night of thrilling and inspirational music, Tulsa’s Gospel Best supports two local nonprofit organizations:
